Sugar Moon Goats

Sugar Moon NS Ezekiel +*B, a buck known for producing consistent and productive daughters, is sire to our herd sire, Mini Land Ranch Dynasty. Ezekial has the third highest living estimated transmitting ability - ETA 2:1 +264.

Sugar Moon was predominately built off of NC Promisedland’s milkiest goats. Sharon Peck was the original. herd owner of Sugar Moon. 

SG SST LADY JAZZMINE 1*M broke the ND Production record in 2017, milking 1760# in 305 days. 

Sugar Moon Zuzanna, a petite, 21” 5 year old, and previous Top Ten doe, crushed that record in 2018 by milking 2190# in 305 days. Since 2018 no doe has broken SG SUGAR MOON V ZUZANNA 4*M record, though few have come close including her daughter, SUGAR MOON Z ZIP ME UP 5*M who milked 2110# in 2019. These lines have been proven time and time again with many other Sugar Moon Does making Top Ten for production including SG SUGAR MOON ZESTA 3*M, the first doe to carry the Sugar Moon herd name and make Top Ten. She milked 1210# in 305 days. Securing spot number 6 on 2012s Top Ten list. In 2013 SUGAR MOON UP MISS DIVINE 2*M claimed spot number 5 milking 1260# in 305 days. And SUGAR MOON SKY WITNESS 4*M milked 1190# in 305 days making her spot # 8 that year.

In 2018, joining Zuzanna on the Top Ten list, SG SUGAR MOON RB GIANNA 2*M claimed spot #3 milking 1630# in 305 days. Gianna also made Top Ten the following year, milking 1500# in 305 days. Also in 2018, SUGAR MOON VIC BEAU-KAYE 3*M claimed spot number 5 milking 1560# in 305 days, and SUGAR MOON F BELLE FLEUR 5*M, a Zuzanna daughter, claimed spot 10 milking 1440# in 305 days. Most recently in 2021 SUGAR MOON BL MADELINE 5*M made Top Ten milking 1710# in 305 days.

Sharon Peck sold the Sugar Moon herd eventually. A majority of the herd went to Curtis Gerry who did right by the goats, and allowed them to make many of the Top Ten Spots mentioned above. Many of the Sugars went to other herds, and have improved milk production in those herds time and time again. Some of the highest ETA and PTAs in the breed are held by Sugar Moon goats in herds all over the US!!! I can’t think of a line more consistent in production no matter where they are placed, even with different management styles.

Curtis eventually sold the herd to Alesia and Tom King of Mini Land Ranch. They continued to keep these genetics pure and made sure they continued to collect data to prove yet again, that they excel anywhere. When Alesia and Tom sold out, the majority of the goats went to Dreamers' Farm in Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
